Leonie first discovered Yoga as a high school student, enjoying the physical benefits of cultivating a strong, flexible and lean body. After an intermittent practice during university, she rediscovered a regular Yoga practice when she began her corporate career. Her Yoga practice helped to manage the stress of a high pressure job and eased lower back pain sustained from frequent travel and desk based work. Leonie’s love of Yoga continued to grow, gifting her with unexpected discoveries about herself – such as discovering a passion to share Yoga with others!

Leonie completed her initial 200 hr Yoga teacher training in the Sri T. Krishnamacharya lineage and believes Yoga is for everyone if it is tailored and taught in an inclusive way. This principle has led Leonie to study and share Yoga in various styles including Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Yin-Yang, Restorative, Yoga Therapy, Aerial Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Leonie enjoys focusing on the therapeutic benefits of Yoga and has continued studies as a Somatic Exercise Coach with Martha Peterson, Level 1 Thai Yoga Massage with the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, Pre & Post- Natal Yoga, Children’s & Teen’s Yoga, Yin Yoga with Jo Phee and Antigravity Yoga.

Most recently, Leonie discovered Master Yang’s Calligraphy Health System based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Qigong and instantly connected to the flowing movements and cultivation of internal energy, known as Prana, Qi and vital life force. After completing the Level 1 and Level 2 teacher training in January 2016, Leonie experienced immediate health benefits, including renewed vitality and energy, regulated hormones, clarity in skin quality and peace of mind. Having experienced the healing qualities of Calligraphy Health system first hand, Leonie is continuing her practice under the guidance of her teacher Master Yang and is excited to share this transformative technique with Adelaide.

Leonie’s mantra is ‘let movement be your medicine’ and loves helping people find the joy and pleasure of being in their bodies – moving, breathing and in stillness.
