After dabbling in yoga for many years, I began a more serious regular practice about 15 years ago as part of my rehabilitation from injury following an ‘altercation’ with a road train on a remote dusty highway in the central desert region of central Australia. Impressed by how yoga aided my recovery and improved my general physical wellbeing I soon began to also notice the positive impact on my psychological and spiritual wellbeing.

I returned to Adelaide with my family, in recent years, after 15 years working in remote Aboriginal communities in central Australia and a ‘gap year’ living, working, practising yoga and meditation and studying Thai Yoga Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. On my return I was keen to take my practice and interest in yoga deeper so in 2014 I began a 12 month teacher training with Zoe Trenwith Yoga with history/philosophy/pranayama/meditation components under the tuition of Philip E Lemke.

I have a passion for teaching Vinyasa flow focusing on correct alignment, building strength, and awareness and connection to breath and have a keen interest in arm balances and inversions which I am slowly introducing into my classes as students gain strength and confidence. I also have a great interest in pranayama/meditation and as a health professional am interested in the therapeutic health benefits of yoga. In the future I hope to enhance my knowledge in the field of Yoga Therapy and Thai Yoga Massage.

I love teaching at HYL, it’s a warm, friendly, nurturing space for students and teachers alike. Come and join us on the mat. J
