Riannah found yoga by accident when looking for a substitute for sport and triathlon. After almost 10 years of pushing her body to the limit and experiencing regular lower back pain and discomfort, she knew there had to be more to life. She started practicing Bikram yoga in 2007 and has never looked back.
After a few years practicing Bikram yoga and then completing Hot Yoga Teacher Training and a 200 Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training with Zoe Trenwith, yoga taught Riannah to be truly happy. Yoga opened her eyes to the world of possibility and showed her that the body can heal and feel amazing through regular practice. Her love of yoga and wellness brought her to open Hot Yoga Life in 2015. Riannah’s vision for HYL was to create a studio where people would feel comfortable and welcomed, where they could practice yoga and come together as a yoga community.
Riannah loves teaching a strong dynamic flow in her vinyasa classes while making sure her students remember yoga is about smiling, having a laugh, falling out of the pose every now and then, and getting straight back up. When it comes to her gentle classes she tries to share all she can about how the slower practice can really nourish the body and calm the mind.
For Riannah it’s not about how flexible you are or if you can reach the full extension of the pose, it’s about how you feel and who you are when you get there!
